  1. I would contact the customer and discuss the issue with them. Once it is off the frame you might be able to "brush" the minkee backing and pull the pokies back through or when the quilt relaxes the minkee becomes unnoticible but it is equally possible that there would be no change.
  2. Welcome back to quilting Maribeth. In regards to the robotics systems you really need to try them out if at all possible as they work differently. IQ is a Linux (sp?) based system that is motor driven. Quilt Path is a Windows based system that is belt driven. Decide what features are important to you in a robotics system then compare the two systems to see how they stack up.
  3. I love this forum and use it all the time however there are some forums, particularly yahoo forums that don't work well for me and I prefer the Facebook groups for those.
  4. What are others in your area charging for simple pantos? Less than your new prices? I would pick out five or six computerized pantos that are fairly simple, no backtracking, low density, and stitches quickly, make a small sample.....plain muslin would work......and stitch out a row or two of each of your choices. Bind it and take to your next show and tell with the pricing for those choices.
  5. I have an Uninterrupted Power Source for my Millie. It protects from power surges and in case of power outages will run your machine long enough to shut down safely. The size recommended by APQS was a little over $300 from Amazon.
  6. I forgot to answer the part of your question about the color of the batting. For quilts that are primarily white I used the white Hobbs 80/20 on my own quilts. It seems as though the white is dull after washing if I use the natural.
  7. I have not yet tried to use a double batting on my longarm but I think the difference between a domestic walking foot and the longarm hopping foot would make for a better outcome on the longarm. There is no "give" in the needle bar of the domestic walking foot when you lower the presser foot so it would push the double layers of batting. With the longarm the foot hops and if it still pushed the layers you can change the height of the needle bar......or at least you can on the Millie's. Perhaps someone who has quilted with double battings will chime it on this issue.
