Compuquilter Upgrade v.5

Hi everyone

I downloaded the new version of CQ this week and used it on a quilt today for the first time. The new boundary feature is awesome. I used it on a quilt that had a centre pieced log cabin design on point. So there were four log cabin pieced triangles around the motif. I brought up the closest triangle from the Boundaries folder and edited the long diagonal edge to match the staggered piecing.

I put the design inside the boundary by dragging with the mouse, centred it and started stitching easy! the next 3 corners were even easier because I justed needed click the button to rotate the boundary and check that the boundary was as close to the piecing as I needed it to be. This was so fast. Next I prepared a boundary for the centre open space and by bringing up a boundary template and adjusting. I could see how it would quilt out right there on the screen. If the piecing had been off a little, I could have clicked and dragged sections of the motif to fit the space - so easy.

Next thing I'm going to try is continuous curve.

There are lots of things I love about CQ, especially the version, but mostly I like that everything is kept as simple as possible.

Can't wait for the new CQ upgrade hardware for the Bliss in the next few weeks. I hear its a totally new way of engaging and disengaging that will be quick and easy.

That is awesome. Cannot wait to see it. I checked just about 10 days ago and didn't see it and I didn't recieve any emails about it which frustrates me. I also saw at MQS a new catalog feature. It was cool too.

Also the ability to reposition points is called "Morphing"

What do you mean by engaging and disengaging? You either have cables are you don't I mean? Will there be something to replace cable system with? And are you only referring to the Bliss version of installation?

I'm on it.

Hi Tammie

I was referring to the Bliss upgrade and didn't word my message very well - sorry.

The morphing feature is wonderful and so addictive. I brought up those Wiener dogs, made a row of four and changed each dog by moving the tail forward and back, lengthing the tails and shortening them. I think this is only the start, it seems like Stan will be building on this.

I know that Dee Dee had some problem with emails not getting through to some customers. I think the upgrade was posted a week ago.

Have fun with it. I think you should print the manual out again the system has changed quite a bit.
