Bonnie H
I found some new videos by Jamie Wallen on You Tube while looking to purchase some of his DVDs. I thought it noteworthy. And loved his other You Tube videos, too. EDIT: I just copied and pasted the URL and oh my! noticed the video here! I hope it works for you! gardenslug
Bonnie, That is a great video on tension. Thanks so much for posting it. He makes it sound so easy and takes the guesswork out of tension adjustment. It actually made sense to me and somethings just go floating in one ear and out of the other. srichardson
I have been watching some of his videos too. They are certainly worth watching. I will be taking a class with Jamie this Thursday at Road To California!
Bonnie H
Sue, I so wanted to sign up for one of his classes at Road this year but my daughter is having my first grand baby any day now and I couldn't miss that. I would love to know how you liked the class. I'm guessing, from watching his other videos, that you will come away with a wealth of things to try! Bonnie H
Bonnie, Marilyn, and Dell, you're welcome! I learned a few things I didn't know and I thought I knew a little about tension, or at least tension troubles! LOL
Janette
that was very interesting although my bobbin won't work that loose... maybe I do it wrong but if I could only lift it and not pick it up my towa number is only 100 do you all run that loose? Quilting Heidi
You can't go wrong with a class from Jamie. He is awesome! He is one of the most positive, patient teachers ever. Janette - I do run my bobbin lose like he does. I find that I have a lot less problems that way. I do have to run it a little tighter with magnabobbins though which is odd but true. Janette
so what is your normal towa reading with a turbo wound bobbin? I tend to run successfully on 200 for glide and isacord. I tested it out earlier to see if I was missing out running so loose but no joy for me so back up it went .... lol
Bonnie H
Janette, I run mine loose, too and my Towa reads out at 180. But whatever works on your machine is what works for you. Maybe the Towa's each read out differently?
Janette
Yes that's possible Bonnie. like you say whatever works is good...

Congratulations on your pending grandchild, how exciting. My DIL was expecting three years ago around the time of Road. I told her that she could deliver before or after but not during, she delivered before!! I took a class from Jamie at MQX in Portland last year, it was a wonderful class. I am looking forward to the one on Thursday. I just finished a class with Angela Walters that was great. Perhaps you will be able to make it to Road next year. The show will be held January 23-26, 2014, the classes begin on the Monday prior to the show.
