New Machine set up

As a new member here and waiting on my machine to be delivered, I have yet another question!

My husband is an engineer and in 42 years, I haven't found much of anything he can't do. So, my question is, what is your opinion about having him assemble everthing when it arrives vs. having an APQS rep come and do it. We are told it won't be hard and if he is handy, he could do it. But are there some finer points about setting it up we may not be aware of? How hard is it really to do?

Thanks for being so helpful!

I think you and your husband can easily do it!!!! Go for it! APQS gives you everything you need and the book is great. We live in a more remote area (no dealers around) and I purchased my machine used from Lisa E. When she purchased the machine she set it up herself; when I purchased it; we did it again at my house and she set up her new Freedom. My husband has since set up a new Freedom for my sister-in-law and also done some work on all of our machines. You can do it; just don't hurry and go through step by step.

Thank you, all of you.  You've restored my confidence in the initial decision to do it ourselves.

And thank you Dawn, I love the idea of you sending me the instructions to look at.  Do you need my email or what do you need?

And Mary, you must have experience with engineers.  The "over analyze" comment is exactly descriptive of an engineer.....especially mine!  You know the old joke about engineers....you ask them the time and they tell you how to build a watch!     Yep.

I am 5 ft tall....I took almost all the packages to the basement by myself...and for the heavy ones with the metal bars I took them down one at a time...assembled it on my own mad only had a little help with setting the machine on the table...excellent instructions...
