SueB2
My machine has been having a high pitched hum on the right side when I am quilting. Everything that has a wick has been oiled. Is their anything to so on the right side to stop the noise? It seems to be getting louder as the days go by. Only had machine since mid July. shirleyl
Call them in the morning, they have diagnosed by sound before. Shirley
Mrs.A
Hi Sue: I don't know what could be causing the hum...does it sound like the motor or vibration? Shirley had the best advice...call tech support in Iowa and have Georgette make the sound for them.
ffq-lar
Try tightening the screws on the hood. Sometimes there will be a harmonic buzz at certain speeds from vibration if there is a loose screw. I hope the fix is as easy as that.
shirleyl
Sue did it start after you raised your table? Is it level? Just a couple of ideas. Shirley
SueB2
Tightened the screws and then it just sounded like a fluttering. When I got up to high speed then the hum got really loud again. Will call in the morning and see what they say. The table is on the same hole on each side and looks level. Thanks Ladies. CindyOH
Can you share how you fixed the hum on the right side of the machine. My machine started humming also on the right side, whenever I would speed up. At a slower speed, the humming was not as loud. Thanks for your help! SueB2
Cindy, called and Amy listened to it over the phone and said it was normal noise.
swera
Hm, I could try raising it up. It isn't actually breaking, just skipping a single stitch every few inches when stitching in the ditch, but not on pebbles. I might get a single loopy stitch every 5 minutes on the pebbles. Don't think I'll be using Aurifil again in my longarm
