Thread adapter to hold 2 cones?

I have one of the adapters on top of my Milly for using two spools of thread, but I need one to hold two cones, I want to use 2 threads at a time.  Can anyone point me in the direction of an adapter for this?  Thank you!

Hi CJ,

I have a Hartley double cone holder and love it. I actually use it all the time so I dont have to run the thread from the back of the machine. Works great! Myrna sells them on her site.

I recently needed two threads for a project and improvised. I used Velcro to hold the other spool in place. It worked fine. But it was a small spool. Look at picture. I often wondered if you could place a spool on the other side for a seconded thread? Has any one tried that?

I don't have a horizontal spool holder since upgrading my girl.  I've been known to tape a paintbrush or pen to the top of her, and use that to hold a spool.  You might try something like that.

Hmmm... that Hartley double holder should work.  Two full cones of Glide (5000m) won't fit side by side on the regular holder, and they've got to feed off the top of the cone.  Thanks!

I love my Hartley Vertical Spool holder, got it from APQS.  Don't have to go to the back of the machine to change threads at all.

 

You can at a pinch put one spool of thread on each back handle and take the second one over the top of the machine to the thread guide.  They used to have thread guide even on the other side for when the Millenium had an onboard winder
