kimjohny
Sometimes when I leave the needle in a down position it will pulsate. It won't go to an up position, just move ever so slightly up and down. You can hear the movement. What the hay is this?
LisaC
Sometimes my machine does this when I am in a very dense seam intersection and I have to help it by manually turning the fly wheel a little bit. Mine only wants to go up or down depending on the cycle. Are you in thick areas when this happens?
kimjohny
I understand what you're saying but no, it happens with a regular quilt sandwich.
LisaC
Hmmm.... not sure. You may want to give APQS a call.
D-Denver
Kim, did you get this resolved? Sometimes this happens to me at the end of a row, when I'm bringing the bobbin thread up to trim it. I needle down, needle up--and the needle starts gently pulsing in place and humming. It doesn't happen all the time, though. One thing that seems to help is having a humidifier going at that end of the table. If I have the humidifier (just a small ultrasonic one) going, I can quilt for hours without it happening. If I forget to put it on, after about 45 minutes, I get the pulsing. Crazy, no?
