IBQLTN2
I just finished this top over the weekend at our guild beach retreat. It was wonderful. Does any one have any ideas for how to quilt it. It will be my only entry into next months guild show, so I want it to be something special. So far it hasn't spoken to me. I know the inside blocks are pretty busy so quilting won't show up much in that part of the quilt.Oops I forgot to hit the attach the file button. IBQLTN2
I also finished putting the blocks of the mystery top together, just have to add the borders, If we keep our electricity I just may get it done tomorrow. It seems that we may get a day off due to forecasted ice and snow. Will have to wait and see what happens.
QuiltGuy
I am no help on suggestions but had to say how lovely the quilt tops are. I have a weak spot for Giraffes as they were my Dad's favorite animal, I always get a good feeling when I see them.
Quilting Heidi
Beautiful job on both Jeanne. I would push back the light and let the dark's pop, which will help your blocks pop.
RitaR
Jeanne, did you use a purchased block for the center Jiraffes? It looks as though it has one terrific job of spray painting the corner highlights, and the black spots colored in. Beautiful quilts, both.. the only thing that comes to mind is the prairie of the Seringetti? can't spell it today.. with a mesquite tree shilouetted.. won't work on your quilt. You will do them proud and Good Luck on your entry at the Quilt Show. Rita

RitaR
Thanks Jeanne. Did the snow and ice hit you? We got 2-3" here.. and this morning it is 4F out.. very Very cold for us. I actually had time to snow dye yesterday. I'm out of Retayne so can't dye more until I get some. Love dyeing, even tried an over dye. Got sort of a spruce green, which has more blue than green. Not what I was aiming for, though still pretty. Rita
IBQLTN2
Rita We got only the ice here in the Charleston area. Went home early on Tuesday and stayed tucked in until this morning. Roads are pretty much clear now except some of the bridges and overpasses have some ice to watch out for. luckily we did not get any of the snow. I worked on my mystery quilt and got all of the inside and pieced border on. Waiting for an order from MaryJo's for more of the outside and binding fabric to finish it up. It was nice to have a PJ day and stay home and sew all day long. Counting the beach retreat last weekend and yesterday I have logged in about 48 hours of sewing time. That is the most time I have had to sew in a long time.
