Renae Haddadin Arc Rulers

Recommended Posts

Anyone have any Renae Haddadin's arc ruler sets?  I follow Jenny Pedigo's sites (jennysdoodlingneedle.blogspot.com and sew kind of wonderful) and she shared how she uses Renae's 12/13" arc for some of her quilting designs.  I am itching to experiment so I ordered the single arc last night and am so excited about it and all the fun ideas I have for quilting with it.

I am wondering if the other sets are worth getting too?  The site is a little confusing though - do the sets come in different lengths or varying arcs?  If you have them do you use them a lot or do you use only one more than the others?  Just curious!  Thanks!  :)

Valarie,

I have her arcs prior to them having the 1/4" markings.  I think they are very much like Deloa boomerangs or Lisa Calle's new archs.  I use my boomerangs all the time and just purchased the little ones from Lisa because Deloa doesn't carry anything smaller than 6".  Renae's arcs were originally designed to do a continuous circle to go with her ray tool.  I love her ray tool and if you are going to do some kind of medallion style design they are well worth the money.  Even Renae will tell you to buy the arcs that you need when you need them.

I have Renee's arcs sets.

Find I use the 12" the most.

Would love them more if they were longer in length and had the same size arc on both sides of the arc.

The 12" arc is on the inside curve, the 13" arc is on the outside curve so you cannot go around a square using the inside and outside of the arc!

They are also only 10" long so need to be moved to stitch a 12 " block.

I'd love to find a manufacturer to make me a 15" arc ruler and S curve.

I have Rhonda's Double  S-curves and  Crescent moons.    Also have all Lisa Calles's proline rulers.     The curves are still too deep for what I want to use them for....

I am the ruler queen!

I have my templates drawn up in 8, 12, 15 and 18" just need to take them and get them cut.  Would save me drawing them each time I want to use it.

I might just have to  make that a pre winter task.

Has anyone tried any of Teryl Loy's rulers?  She's an Innova dealer that has developed a line of rulers/templates that are 3/8" thick w/ a beveled edge to prevent chipping if hit with the hopping foot.  www.terylloy.com/video.htm

Out of curiosity, why did Off the Edge Quilting stop offering one of the most popular SID rulers I've ever read about?  Better yet, why hasn't anyone taken over OTE's product line?

Happy Easter everyone!

I have one of Teryl Loy's 3/8 inch straight rulers. I think it is either the 3 x 6 or the 4 x 8. I really like that my hopping foot seems a little more "protected" when using this ruler as the ruler is thicker in height than the usual 1/4 inch rulers, but the ruler is heavier and a little harder for my hands to handle. I have some hand problems (joints and tendons) so this may be part of the reason it is harder for me to handle.
