aktbone
Trying to get pros and cons regarding the Silhouette Cameo. Do you like it? How does it do cutting fabric? Suggestion for another fabric cutter? Price of Silhouette vs another brand? Anything else you can advise? Thanks
lisae
Tonilyn, I bought one to cut freezer paper templates for applique. I've heard of others using them for cutting fabric, but I have a Studio cutter and use it for cutting. The Silhouette would be really slow for cutting fabric in my opinion. yankiequilter
I would be interested in knowing how the Silhouette Cameo, or other cutters, worked for cutting fusible backed fabric for applique.
Quilting Heidi
I researched cutters back when I was looking and ended up getting the KNK Zing. My reasons for this were: 1. The software was included with the purchase 2. The cutting width was the widest, up to 15" 3. It cut a multitude of materials including Balsm Wood. 4. Ability to scan in any image or pdf into the software and make a cutting file. 5. The software allows for many other formats to be used as well (I haven't had to play with that yet). I haven't had a lot of time to use it but I have cut an entire applique project. I cut Sharon Schamber's applique stabilizer without any problems at all. It will cut fabric as well but I probably won't use it much for that. I have also cut card stock without any issues. Here is the link to what I got: http://knkzing.make-the-cut.com/
RoseCity Quilter
I have the Silohette Cameo and love it, though I do not use it that often.....cuts fusible backed fabric like a charm. Dio not find it slow, sure beats cutting by hand.....think the only reason I have not used it much is I hav not made any appliqué quilts recently,.....
