Feather Wreath Custom - Finished!

Recommended Posts

Looking back I should have mentioned in the title last time I posted photos of this that it was in progress.  I finished it this evening and attached the binding to the front for the client.  She is a super nice local lady who I really love to quilt for.  She is just a really easy to please customer who is usually tickled no matter what I do and gives me a lot of freedom of design.  This time she chose the quilting plan but that was ok with me - I was so busy that it saved me some time!!   :)  Plus I think she chose a really great design...

I was on a little bit of quilting burnout after the kids let out of school and I had been knee deep in a huge monster custom.  But I'm getting back in the groove and just about ready to put the monster quilt back on the frame.

Do you ever just stop and say to yourself, "I cannot believe I get to do this every day!!"  I really love quilting.  I have my moments.  Once in a while a stinky person will bring me down or make me wonder if I'm on the right path.  But then there are days like these where I know I'm doing what I'm supposed to do!!   :)

Yes it is a beauty!!!  You did a great job, and yes I recently had a huge (118 x 118) custom that I needed a break from quilting from when it was finished, however it took me 3 weeks so that put me behind and I couldn't take a break...I think it is a matter of balance...and I try to intersperse customs with e2e quilts...my machine is going into APQS for her spa treatment and actually I am looking forward to the small break to work on other things...but when she comes back, I know I'll be anxious to get back on the saddle (saddle stool that is) and quilt!  My goal has always been to get caught up on customer quilts so I can do my own and that never seems to happen...so now I am planning to start interspersing mine every other customer until mine are quilted too - I currently have 8 tops of my own to quilt....

But -yes, I do usually say "I can't believe people pay me to have this much fun!"

Well my giant custom quilt has taken me about three weeks and I'm still not done!!  But it's going to be a real masterpiece when finished.  Sure makes me want to make some masterpieces of my own!!  But truly, even when I wasn't quilting it was hard to find time for my own quilts...the extra income is a blessing as I stay  home with my children.  The best yet most difficult decision I have ever made!  :)  Of course all my fun money went into recent car repairs (boo!!) but hey, thank goodness I quilt!!!  It really helped offset the cost of those repairs so we could still do some fun things like take our kids to the movies and pay for soccer uniforms!  :)  I am very lucky!!  :)
