JenniferBernard
As I gently quilted this quilt I wondered who made it. Did they have fun going through a precious scrap basket picking out tiny bits of fabric to piece the pieces to finish a block. Then using scissors to cut the patches. There is some hand sewing in places to fix holes. The blocks are a happy mix of this and that. I had to take 2 giant tucks in one side to even come near to being semi flat. I just meandered through the bumps and tried to reinforce some loose stitches with quilting. I am sending soap home with my client to give it a bath to remove a lot of age spots and hopefully puff up some of the wonky spots. It is for a church auction. Sheri Butler
You did great! I LOVE old old quilts. They make me feel like someone who's probably passed on, is looking down on me smiling, thinking...aaaah....it's finally a quilt!
JenniferBernard
Well, she was old and wonky, but she brought $350 at the church auction for shipping helpful living kits over seas! That is a very good price for a quilt in a smallIowa town.
