I had to take it off the frame for a few weeks - I needed a break and totally underestimated the time involved!! I won't lie, this one got away from me quickly! I feel like I'm back on a realistic time frame for finishing now. Wheew! I am so glad I took that break too, I've loaded it back up and have new found energy and motivation to finish. I've actually advanced the quilt and made a dent into the last border on this side...but it doesn't look very impressive any longer so I thought I'd share this pass before I moved the quilt up! LOL I still have to turn it and do the last borders but most of the SID is done so it'll just be adding the feathers and cross hatching. Woohoo! I want to learn how to freehand feathers I see some of the quilts you gals on here do and they are gorgous. I have something like 8 or 10 CL boards and rns boards that I use on most of my quilts. Maybe I need to doodle making feathers and just put a practice piece of fabric on Millie and play. I definitely over schedule myself...the Husband works crazy hours and it's pretty much just me and the kids 24/7...but if I didn't have quilts I'd really be in a bad place! I need them. I love them! Ahh quilts! Bonnie - I just premark my cross hatching with a water soluble pen and go back over the lines with stitching and a ditch ruler. I avoid backtracking along the lines of the cross hatching and instead attempt to do my back tracking in the seams so it's not as noticeable...also I'm using invisifil thread which is extremely forgiving. I use Invisifil in the bobbin as well - it's a little tricky to get the tension down, and you have to be delicate with pulling the bottom thread to the top...but the results are magical! It blends so well that it all just reads texture. Hi Valerie, awesome quilting!! When using Invisifil Thread, what are you using in the bobbin??
