BethDurand
So, it's nearing the end of the day, you are getting tired, but are SO close to finishing this quilt that has been on your machine for way too long. "Come on baby. Just a little bit more." So the thread broke, we can finish this tonight. I'm not that tired. One thing leads to another, and then you've done something really stupid, like trying to stitch with the needle threaded, but no bobbin thread. Then it gets ugly. I get that mess cleaned up, and my first thought is "Well heck. Got that taken care of, let's finish this after all!" Even though you've been telling yourself and your machine that you're going to quit as soon as you get things back together. I was able to talk myself out of that idea, and instead am upstairs working on finishing another easy project. Let me tell you though, if I screw this up, I'm going to have a nap! Lemon Tree Tami
OH yes, I know that feeling. If I'm too tired and it seems like I'm just repeating that same silly mistake over and over again then I know it's time to take a break. Hopefully your break refreshed you and all is a well oiled machine again.

Primitive1
Sorry! I know sometimes no matter how close you are to finishing....you just have to walk away.....just walk away.......
Sheri Butler
I've learned to walk away. Yeah, ME. Takes me a few times, but now I actually do it. Sorry for your night!!
BethDurand
I am learning! Just walked away, even though there's only about an hour of straight quilting left to do. Sitting up here with a cup of coffee, and will just take a break for a few before heading back.
ffq-lar
Thanks for the reminder, Beth. The studio is an out-building and I always have a glass of iced tea or water to keep me going. That also makes me head into the house for a potty break every few hours! I thought I need a bathroom out there but now realize it's better this way! RitaR
ROFL If the weather is such that it easily makes fishing enticing, I can easily walk away. LOL If the weather isn't such, then I find some piecing to do or work on the burlap shopping bags, microwave bowl holders, etc., or (shudder) answer an email. jbnt9999
It's always the last row that takes the longest. Thread breaks, push manual button instead of regulated and makes a knot, pee in my pants getting last inch stitched. We all need to breath and relax. I have learned when taking a complicated quilt off the frame to let it sit for a few days then look at it again. Sometimes we are so close to the quilt we fill in the blanks even if they are not quilted. What's the saying? Do as I say not as I do!
