Oma Posted September 15, 2014 Report Share Posted September 15, 2014 Yesterday our good friends lost their home. The latest fire burning at Bass Lake took it. The firemen were able to save their two labs, but didn't know about a smaller dog in the house and couldn't do anything about the flock of beautiful chickens he had. In an instant everything they own is gone. They are just devastated and I feel so sad for them. They had done so much remodeling this past year and Steve did most of the work himself. It is hard to start over when you have no base; nothing to build on. It was devastating and I was young and didn't have much! Prayers going up for your friends' comfort and strength in hard times! How heartbreaking. It's so beautiful up there but so many dangers of fire . We used to live in Yosemite Lakes Park and spent lots of fun times on Bass Lake. We drove through Weed yesterday afternoon and today it is in flames with more than 100 structures have gone up in flames. If only it would rain! What is also sad is: there are so many folks who could use a quilt and with no home base, difficult to get them to those in need. They need daily survival things first, then they have to rebuild, I always think of kettles, spoons and forks, first. Don't know why. Maybe because daily sustinance is needed to keep going, and they can all gather around it at the same time. Gods Blessings upon them, and you, for caring.
