Katie Belle
Your help is needed! Can you suggest a border to border pantograph for my Fall Leaves quilt?
Bonnie H
How big is the border? Do you have IQ so t he pattern can be sized up or down to fit?
Katie Belle
The border is 3 3/4 inches wide, and the quilt measures 42 1/2 x 53 1/2. I'm not sure if the pattern can be sized up or down as I am having someone else do the longarm quilting for me.
Bonnie H
Oh my apologies!! I thought you wanted to fit a panto in the border. I misread your question. Apricot Moon has a panto called Maple Sugar. It is maple leaves. Denise Schillinger has one cslled Curly Maple Leaves.
delld
I think I would use something that look like wind. So the leaves would stand out and not fight with the quilt. Just a thought . Good luck!!!
Sheri Butler
I agree with Dell. Don't use leaves ontop of leaves. Do something whirley swirley. There are a lot out there to choose from. Google quilting pantographs, and you will be amazed at what's out there. At least that will give you a start.
jmcclannan
I would do a freehand swirly design. That is a lot easier than trying to fit a panto within the border.
Bonnie H
I agree, I wouldn't do leaves on leaves for this quilt. It seems I should NOT be reading here from on my phone because nearly every time I don't read right!! I got caught up in thinking you wanted leaves in the borders that I didn't read the rest of the question right. My next thought was thinking you wanted leaves on the whole quilt. Definitely something to give movement to this quilt would be beautiful. Can you ask your quilter to see some of her designs and get her opinion? Katie Belle
Thank you for your suggestions. The ideas of a whirly-swirly, wind-like design were perfect. I decided to go with Anne Bright's Van Gogh and couldn't be more pleased with how my quilt all came together!
