Need a picture of Lenni wheels

Recommended Posts

Can anybody post pictures (or email them to me) of how the vertical Lenni wheels should sit on the rails?  Should the highest part of the steel rail hit dead center of the wheel?  The rail is rather angular and the groove in the wheels is concave.  We are having a hard time trying to decide if the wheels need adjustment or not now that we have rails on.

Sheri:  The earlier Lenni's had vertical wheels.  I think APQS just started with the horizontal wheels on Lennis in the last 3 or 4 years.  I think the Lennis have been built with at least 4 different tables during their life time.

Teresa:  I'm glad you found the parts you needed.  I hope your machine is up and running now.  Regards.  Jim

Jim, it is still in pieces, but we are getting it back together.  We are using the same rails, but turned 90 degrees to a new rail surface will make contact with the wheels.  I hope I have the wheels correctly centered.  I still haven't found an outlet for new wheels, without buying an entire Edgerider carriage, wheels, and accessories.  That is $500, too much to spend on a maybe.  My husband took me to Tractor Supply yesterday. He thought they might have some pully wheels or machine wheels that woudl fit, but they didn't have any that small.  He then looked for replacement bearings, but again, none were small enough to fit the wheels I have.

Teresa:  As I said before, I think the Easy Glide wheels that Lakeside Quilting made for Gammill machines will fit and work on your machine.  I don't know for sure because I don't have a Lenni to experiment with.  The grooved wheels look like they have the same edge profile as your Lenni wheels, and the flat ones would just sit on top of the rail.  I know I could use a combination of them and Gammill Edgerider wheels on my Ult 2.  Jim

Don't bother trying to find wheels that were made for some application other than long arm quilting.  I don't think anything out there would be satisfactory.  The real difference between the stock wheels and the after market wheels is the bearing width.  That's why most sets come with replacement axle bolts.  The wheels are thicker because the bearings are wider.  The material the wheels are made of is different, but the performance and durability difference I think, comes from the improved bearings.  Wider bearings give you better support.  Jim
