IBQLTN2
I have been busy working on my mystery quilt this year. I haven't been on the forum to see if anyone else has done the mystery from here, but there sure have been a lot of people on the blog link ups and on the facebook quiltville blog that have posted lots of great pictures. I enlarged my quilt by one row in length and width and added the small hst bonus squares as an inner border. the quilt measures 104 x 104 instead of the 88 x 88 that was Bonnies only size this time. Last year she gave directions for two sizes. I like to have an extra hang on a queen sized bed so I opted to make it a little larger. I only have a 10 foot frame on my Lenni, So I am really pushing the limits on quilting this large of a quilt. It is now ready to quilt. I am planning on using design board from R&S called bountiful feathers. I hope it will give the quilt a good look. So who else here has been working on the mystery? Bekah
That is a lot of piecing. Great job and I am anxious to see it all quilted.
ffq-lar
I always watch for Bonnie's mystery quilts. This one was easier/had fewer steps than usual. But it still used a large amount of fabric. I think she's listening to her fans! I've made several quilts from her books, but not a mystery quilt. Yours looks great! I love your gold-green-blue-rust color combo. Post pics when you finish, please.
carolinequilts
OH how very cool Jeanne. Can't wait to see it after it's been quilted!
Bonnie H
Your quilt turned out beautiful! I think bountiful feathers will look nice Mystery quilts always scare me. I've only done one of Bonnie's as each week was published and that was enough for me! I'd rather wait to see what the quilt looks like before I commit. Yeah, I'm a chicken!! Sue E.
It looks great. I copied and saved all the clues but haven't had a chance to even pick out my fabrics. I am impressed that yours is all pieced and I can't wait to see it quilted. Great job!
sewingpup
I am working on it...I tried to use the colors that Bonnie suggested...yep lot of piecing...the first one that I have done most of...have the blocks and the pieced border row done and am working on stitching the rows together. I think I like it...it is busier and in different colors then I usually do. But as it is coming together...I am liking it. I started Celtic Solistic last year....but I needed to work more on 1/2 (oops 1/4) inch seam...and the triangles in a square and those chevron blocks were tough....I did get the dies to cut the pieces though and that was easier....I don't know if I will ever finish that one or not. but....I did have fun working on the clues as they came out and was pretty much able to keep up until the reveal....I got at least one of the bugs that are going around and now am on antibiotics and prednisone for my asthma...getting better slowly...but still not much energy....Lin
Lemon Tree Tami
I too saved the clues from this year's Bonnie mystery but haven't had time to pull fabrics for it. I've been watching the FB feed to see the versions that I'm most in love with for colors. I like the teal blue that you've chosen. Pretty.
sewingpup
Tami, My favorite so far is on the LInk-up on Bonnie's site. It is number 163. Really pretty, she used a focus fabric so it is not as scrappy as most and changed the color scheme just a bit. I loved doing it and like looking at all the finishes ...mine will look like most as I stuck to the suggested colors and made it scrappy! quiltedsunflower
I have clue #1 all finished - but then life got in the way. I have them all printed out and fabrics pulled. I've set a goal to finish 15 in '15 - and that one is on the list. We'll see how that goes. Love yours!!!! It's such encouragement for me :-)
T Row Studio
Yes I did the Mystery, of course did my own colors and do like how it has turned out.
