Sheagatzi
Well, if I didn't know about this, then I'm sure there MUST be someone who didn't know about this too. I feel so stupid yet so full of glee that I spent the last hour taming my cones of thread. LOL Okay - this works for taming thread on thread cones when storing them. Metro, Sigma, Glide, aurifil. This won't work for superior because they have that little 'slit' at the base of the cone to trap your loose thread. At the base of your cone of thread there is a little 'lip'. pull it down. see how there is now a little concave area where you can wrap your thread around? Pull the entire circumference down - it will click into place. Now, wrap your loose thread in there, but leave a little tail. Then, push that 'lip' back into place. Voila. your cone of thread is now secure. You're welcome!
GMALKB
I like those better than the little slit to try to get the thread in to. I can never find the slit !

Ann Wight
I like those better than the little slit to try to get the thread in to. I can never find the slit ! I had that problem too, then one day, I took a sharpie and made a little black mark on each slit of every spool. Now, it's automatic and I do it when I unwrap a new spool. Gamache
I didn't know, so you're not alone. Thanks! Maybe I don't have a spool like that, but when I do.... I'll be ready.

Queenanne
I can SO identify with this!! I felt so stupid. Here I was - cutting slits in my Glide cones to hold tails until one day the base rolled down....
mestuart
works on a lot of domestic threads as well.
