What the biggest difference between these two machines, keeping in mind that the ones for sale are from 2007 and 2008. Then, how does the Lucy compare with those, since it is 13,000 brand new? Besides looking at the chart which is a good starting point; calling APQS and talking with them or contacting any of the dealers is helpful to help you figure out what the older machines do/do not have compared to the new ones (LED lighting is one thing that changed) and what machines are available. It was the first year with the LED lighting and the on/off switch in the centre of the machine rather than at the back. It has motorized fabric advance, electronic channel locks and thread cutter. HeidiP Posted March 7, 2015 Report Share Posted March 7, 2015 If you would ever want to add the computer module, it's my understanding that your machine needs a stitch regulator and though it can be added to older machines, a 2008 or newer machine is best. The Millie and Freedom tables will be more robust and can accommodate the motorized advance. I think the standard Lucey table is still much better than your old Lenni table and better than my square tube Ultimate 1 table as far as getting all the rollers parallel and level. Beachside Quilter Posted March 7, 2015 Report Share Posted March 7, 2015 Lucey is $12400. Cannot add quilt glide. Table has smaller diameter rollers, no fabric advance. Pre 2013 Millie/freedoms have 4 button mushroom handles with all functions activated on handles. 2013 & newer "new Gen" machines have touch control panel on front of head and single push button handles. Lucey has similar single push button handles. No electronic channel locks on Lucey or freedom. Can upgrade Lucey table for Millie table for additional $2000. It seems like a good price, but it was commercially used, so it may have a million hours on it. I'm just playing with dollar amounts in my head right now, trying to figure out what I can sell, trade, etc. to upgrade to a larger machine with a Bliss table. LisaC Posted March 8, 2015 Report Share Posted March 8, 2015 I am thinking the Millennium has both vertical and horizontal channel lock buttons on the handles along with the bobbin thread cutter and Freedom does not; I think it has one manual lock for stitching horizontally? ffq-lar Posted March 8, 2015 Report Share Posted March 8, 2015 It would be wonderful if a dealer or someone at APQS could post a comprehensive list of "standard equipment" for each generation of the models. This would make it easy for someone unfamiliar with the different models and older machines. Like --Millennium 2000 to 200?-- silver body, black frame, h & v channel locks, SR, Laser, fluorescent light bar, blah blah blah. Then when the changes come--Millennium 200? to present--white body, white frame, LED lights, quilt glide blah blah blah. And do the same for the Ultimate, discontinued models, different iterations of the Lenni frames, etc. It's so confusing sometimes and while machine seekers can always ask questions of the seller, it would be nice to have an overall view of standards. Also, a complete description of the differences in the rail systems (vertical wheels, horizontal and Bliss rails) would be helpful.
