Bonnie in Ok
Maybe someone knows why this is happening. I had to wind my own bobbins with some glide and during use the thread inside the bobbin just keeps getting all loose till it gets hung up and breaks. The bobbin is wound smooth and I tried different cases and springs and still get the same problem otherwise the stitching is good. I have wound bobbins before this quilt and have not had this problem. Does anyone have any idea what I am doing wrong?
Bonnie in Ok
Finally found the search it was under racing bobbin. Knew I read it somewhere.
dbams
Bonnie, were you able to fix your problem? If so, what was the issue? I just searched "racing bobbin" and only found your post, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who'd like to know the result.
Cagey
If you went to the search button from this thread, you have to change "This topic" to "Forums" immediately to the right of where you typed in your search. That is why you only get this thread for your search result, would be my guess. This is what pops up for "racing bobbin" on "Forums"; http://forum.apqs.com/index.php?/topic/37036-racing-bobbin/?hl=%2Bracing+%2Bbobbin It will first search for bobbin + racing together, and then find just bobbin and racing in the same post. When you do that you get four search results. Clear as mud? Cagey
dbams
Thanks, Cagey! Your directions were much cleared than mud. I haven't been having this issue yet (thankfully), but it's always nice to read about fixes just in case.
jimerickson
Bonnie: It sounds like you might not have wound the bobbin tight enough. My experience with embroidery threads like Glide is that they are slippery, and like to twist and unwind. Tight winding helps control them. Bonnie in Ok
Thanks Jim I will try to tighten my tension more when I wind the next one. Thankfully I finished that quilt and and moving on to the next one that I will use prewound bobbins
