Paper pantograph

Recommended Posts

Most pantos are made with repeats, just like fabric. They fill the width of the stitching area as you travel from one side to the opposite and when you reach the end the area is full, you advance, and start again. The Egyptian Eye board is different and has you traveling in one wavy line from side to side, then another line all the way, another, and back again. Stitching a panto this way is not the normal technique and I couldn't find a panto that works that way.

You could draw your own panto by drafting a single page of waves. Then you copy and tape together for use as a panto. A digitizing program is helpful to match your exit points and get smooth curves.

You might find something that gives a similar look without drawing your own. I found this one.
