2013 Millie stopped running "mid quilt"

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I've been in the long arm business for over 20 years, wore out my old APQS and purchased a Millie last year.

I had been quilting for 6 hours todayand while doing a lap quilt and the motor stopped running.

The lights were on, indicator lights are on, LEDs are on.

I was not using the stitch regulator, just running it manually.             I tried all 4 start switches with no results.   The only thing that works is the 'single stitch' feature.

Twice while pushing buttons, the machine turned on for 3-4 seconds..then off.  It's been off every since.

The green lights on the eithernet ports are flashing...so 'something' is working.

I don't have schematics or logic ladders to troubleshoot where the problem might be.   It's probably an interlock that has failed and is preventing the motor from turning on.

Any input would be great.

Thank you,

Mary

Mary, now that I'm home from running errands - and not trying to post from my phone - can you give us more information?  Where are you located?  What year is your Millie?  And have you checked all the connections?

I just realized that this post says it's a 2013 Millie.  If it's the "New Generation" Millie, the speed doesn't have to be set in order to stitch.  And if it's that new, the problem probably isn't the motor brushes.  Best thing to do is to email service@apqs.com with all the symptoms and follow up with a phone call, if necessary.
