This is my favorite so far, Ardelle.

I love the quilt design.  You even outlined the green before you stitched the block around the big star. The double crosshatching is beautiful. Two questions.

When you stitch a line and then stitch away from it, hope this makes sense, how far away?  Do you make the lines 1/4 inch, 1/2 inch???

When you stitched the block outline and had to go around the spikes, are you starting and stopping or just going up the spike and back down?

Thank you Libby!

I stitch the lines you talk about, or I call them outlines, 1/2" most of the time. Occasionally 3/4" on larger spaces. And when I do the block outline, I stitch everything ( the outline, background fill etc) as I go and SID around points to get to next section. I avoid spots and starts....
