SYork
When my milli changes direction I am getting an occasional flat lining of the bobbin thread and then it will straighten out and stitch fine again. I have checked for lint in case, changed threads, changed needles , and messed with the tension but have not solved the problem. Any suggestions? Cagey
I think you need to pause of just a second longer when you change direction. This will allow the thread and needle to catch up in relation to your movement. It is probably needle flex that is causing your issue. I hope this helps. dlnewell
If it is needle flex, try going up on needle size, unless you're already using a 4.0.

SYork
I went to Dawn's post and switched to a size 4 needle, tightened the top and bottom tension, set stitch length to more stitches per inch and things are much better. Thanks for all of the advice.
fallenfar
Isn't it funny how tightening the bobbin can sometimes cure bobbin flat lining? I was having a problem with intermittent bobbin flat lining and did all kinds of troubleshooting and it was tightening up that bobbin tension that made it better. I do have a Nolting which tend to like to run a bit of a tighter tension than most LA's. My normal Towa pull is 24. (240 on the newer Towa's)
