suefyfe6@gmail.com
Does anyone have any good suggestions for me. I have no fellow to help me out. I have an Ultimate II, new to me. I find that the power cord keeps putting a lot of drag on the machine and at times catches and causes my quilting to either jag or skip a long stitch. I cannot afford the big frame that one can purchase with the lights and from which the cord can be extended. I thought of an i-beam curtain track screwed to the ceiling but don't know if this would work. Does anyone else have the problem and solution that I could do myself. Thanks. RunningThreads
Do you have the curly cord? My Ultimate 1 had one and I changed it to a straight cord and that helped a lot. I mounted an extension cord to the underside of my table at the centre and plug the machine in there. That takes some of the weight of the cord off the floor. mlsa3
I mounted a surge protector with 4 plugs under the middle of my frame on the backside. I just plug my cord in there and it lets me go to each end without dragging the cord. I also found a picture on another forum where a lady stretched a wire cable across the back of her machine and attached it to each side of the machine. Then she clipped her cord onto the cable where it would slide. Tamarack
I have a very simple system to keep my cord high and it is plugged into the ceiling outlet. No pull or drag.
RunningThreads
Kathy That is a slick set up. Good thinking on your part to do that when building your studio. It is not common to see outlets on the ceiling except in garages where you plug the opener in. Nigel

Cagey
David: The easiest way to save the image is to hit print on your computer, and then save the image instead of printing it. Most computers will let your save it as a .pdf file. Open that file, and then save it as .jpg. You can upload the file here for all to see. nana di
I read everything and hardly ever post but this is how I fixed the problem with the cord catching on things. I have rear handles on my machine and taped a ruler to the handle bars. Then I taped the cord to the ruler. Fixed my problem, it just sticks out a ways. suefyfe6@gmail.com
thank you everyone. I purchased a spring curtain thingy and put 2 hooks in the ceiling. Strung the curtain spring from hook to hook and used a shower curtain hook to hold the cord. It work just fine. No problems with the curly cord either and it is up next to the ceiling so not in the way.
