The area of the block is not equal to the effective area

In looking at the picture, it appears to me that your pattern is trying to quilt in you safe zone.

 

You might need to place the row (using top left flag) on the top left of your quilt top.  then the pattern should move down some.  

 

DID YOU ADD the GREEN LINE?

the problem is that the effective area is a rectangle, and the area for quilting is an irregular polygon.

 

I need you to fill in the area forming the green line
