roco
My current set up is a Juki tl98qe on a 12 ft. Grace King wood frame. Have been using it for 3 years now. I want to step up to a larger machine----the 9 inch throat space is VERY LIMITING. What other 'head' can I use with the Grace King frame? I was told I can't go bigger than an 18 inch is this true? Would also like to have a head that is stitch regulated. Trying to keep things under $4,000. Thanks
HeidiP
You may be able to find a vintage APQS machine for around that amount. Millie came out in 2000. If the table is too big, it can be cut down. If you want to continue using your Grace frame, I believe the rails configuration will limit your quilting area. gkazee
I think your throat depth would be limited by the space between the rails on your current frame. Measuring that space should help you determine if you can go bigger than an 18" throat. You might also be limited by the width of the carriage your current machine rides on so check that out too when looking at machines.
