dbams
This is coming to me via a friend of a friend, who learned to sew on it. It belonged to her grandmother, and she doesn't want it any more. My friend took it because she thought I might want it, and she was right! A free treadle in decent shape! The felt around the neck is for holding pins. I won't see it until I pick it up tomorrow. My friend says it needs cleaning but is very pretty. qltnbe
It's beautiful. The decals are in great shape. Lucky you for sure.
Mary Beth
Wow, her decals are beautiful. I hope you have taken that pin holder/piece of fabric off. That thing will cause the machine to rust because it holds moisture. I cut mine off of my grandma's machine as soon as I seen it there. I saved it. dbams
Mary Beth, I am picking it up from my friend tomorrow, and the felt will come off right after that. I am hoping the decals under it are not too damaged from moisture and pins. However, if they are, that will add character.
dbams
The original owner's name was Matilda, and it suits this machine perfectly. Tilly, for short, naturally.
Mary Beth
Yes!! The decals that I can see are perfect. I would expect a little ware being that old. I love the Red Eye decals.

dbams
The decals under the felt aren't bad at all. Unfortunately, Tilly in person does not look as good as she does in these pictures. She definitely needs some love. Based on her serial number, she was manufactured in 1915. I hope I look as good as she does when I am 101 years old! I will need to research and learn how to take care of her.
