Cairns
I'm loving the way Lucey quilts out some very badly pieced blocks. I could use some ideas for quilting the sashing, please. They aren't related in size to the quilt blocks and a simple grid doesn't seem to work. I have feathers on the outside borders.
Cagey
Your feathers look great, so work them into the sashing. Feathers always look great, and you can work them to fill a space. Cagey
Mary Beth
Egg and Dart works well in these areas too, and would be kind of traditional, like the quilt.
Sheri Butler
I'd continue the feathers throughout the sashing. Just decide which direction you want the continue line...all the horizontal one long feather design, then the vertical short ones. That's what i'd do. Gail O
Or you could do an even curved spine in the sashing, that almost touches the edges at the apex of each curve and quilt 3 or 4 feathers in each curve. There's probably a name for this, I think it's in one of Deloa's books.

Cairns
Okay. Thanks for the thoughts. I'll audition them this weekend and get to work! i appreciate the advice, ladies. I finished this one. Lucey quilted out unbelievably bad piecing issues and the quilt will now last longer and s out of storage. I'm pretty happy. Thanks again for suggestions. Quilta93
You've done a beautiful job. I've only done lap quilts and a cross banner. I need to tackle some larger quilts. Deb.

LibbyG
I had a customer request the egg and dart on her quilt last month and was wondering how I was going to do the cornerstones in the sashing. I hope I'm able to work it out as beautifully as you did.
