PattyJo
This is a friends quilt I quilted for her. It's for her grandson's birthday. The first pic is of it before I started the quilting.
T Row Studio
Great Job Patty Jo I love the quilting especially the yellow border that one really caught my eye and is very interesting.
Cagey
Patty Jo It looks wonderful. Are the dragons teeth in the yellow a pattern, or something you came up with? Either case, it looks lovely, and could be used in a lot of different quilts/areas. Great job. Cagey

Gail O
Add me to the list of border lovers. Really like the squiggly lines too, and the block design, and the setting triangle design, and the colours, and, and, and . . . . . . .

dlnewell
So, I've studied the yellow border, but just cant seem to figure out how you stitched it. Do you do the curves all the way down then work back doing the little spikes? Maybe my eye are too dry to focus and get the detail from the pic
PattyJo
This is a design I learned from Myrna Ficken and I'm not sure why but on this one I start on the right side of the quilt. You can change those spikes to feathers as well. I call it bamboo shoots but I guess dragons teeth works too! Here is a diagram on my dry erase board of the pattern. It is a continuous pattern but I don't try to turn a corner with it as I can't get it to come out right.
tootsquilts
Love the quilt Patty Jo, and thanks for the lesson. I am always looking for new ways to quilt and your bamboo shoots are perfect for a quick border. I love how it looks in your yellow border. Great job, and thanks for sharing the quilt and the lesson. PattyJo
You're welcome - that's one of my favorite patterns to stitch into sashing or narrow borders. And thanks for the compliments.
LibbyG
I think that border is in DeLoa Jone's BORDER PATROL book. I've started to use some of them again and really like them. I seem to favor feathers, but they have such a nice look. And, yes, it's challenging to turn the corner.
delld
Myrna Ficken taught me that yellow border design 8 years ago when I first got my Millie. She called it 1,2,3's. I had the hardest time doing it. But she helped me and I love and do it all the time!!! Of course I count One, Two ,Three the whole time I'm stitching!!!! The quilt is beautiful!!!!
