quiltmonkey Posted May 18, 2017 Report Share Posted May 18, 2017 Needle size: Go bigger. I'd say 4.5 needle. Regarding thread,,, there are all types of "metallic looking" thread. You can use Superior true metallic thread and for a metallic "look" that is less finicky, try using a shiny polyester thread. PS: The true metallic threads should not be used in bed quilts, only wall hangings because they can get sharp pricking edges that break open and could scratch. Polyester threads are best for bed quilts where you want a metallic look but not the metal in the thread. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
