Lenni that's not been used in year...

If there's a needle installed, I would change it to a new one (original could have gotten bent over the years) and ensure it is aligned with the needle plate so it doesn't break.  I'm sure others familiar with Lenni will chime in to give you advice.

I would also check the condition of the bobbin case. Is it actually round (could have been dropped), is the spring in it, and then clean it. Clean the wheels and the rails. Use your WD-40 to clean the bobbin area (Dawn has a video on this). I would also look inside to see if there is debris or thread wrapped around the hand-wheel. You just don't know how the machine was treated. You can also call Customer Support as check with them about what to look for.
