  4. I am moving to a smaller home so I must sell my APQS Discovery Quilting machine. It is a great working, smaller longarm (same body as UII 20" throat) not a midarm. It includes machine, wood and metal table, supplies, patterns, batting, thread, and Circle Lord system with templates aND full sized queen boards. I would like $3,900 or BO for everything. I ran a Quilting business for a short time so it has all kinds of supplies to start a business or just your own quilting. There are about $2,000 in Circle Lord supplies alone. The Discovery is similar to the Lenni or Liberty by APQS but no Stitch regulator. I have done very well with out one. It easily handles different types of threads and still have beautiful stitches. It has all the other gizmos like needle up down, one stitch, laser light, and it is very light weight (37 lbs?). Being so light, it makes free motion quilting a breeze. I will provide a couple of hours in lessons for free and help set up if bought within 60 miles. I can also provide additional lessons if needed at an additional cost. I live in South Portland Maine about 45 minutes north of Portsmouth NH. It needs to be picked up. Give me an email or text me 207.766.6800 I have it listed under craigslist maine also.

  9. My sister-in-law and I are ready to move to a Lenni. We wish to sell our Ultimate II. We purchased it used and have done over 50 quilts in the last three years. It has a 12 foot wooden table and it has been a wonderful machine. I will try to upload some pictures. We are just west of Waverly, Iowa. We are asking $3800 with the buyer transporting it.attachment=21920:IMG_3591.JPG] We still have this machine for sale--she works wonderfully! A good deal for someone!
  10. Hello Everyone I'm completely new to using a longarm machine; only used them a few times at shows for a few minutes. I was able to purchase a used Ultimate II with a 14ft metal frame at a country auction earlier this week. My husband and I have recently gotten it home and set everything up. I need to replace the leaders which I have been reading about online as they are dirty and have many holes in them. The machine does work as I have turned it on and had it running. My problem is with the bobbin. I can't figure out how to get the needle to pull up the bobbin thread. Do I have to have a quilt loaded on the machine to even attempt this? Is it something with the threading of the machine, threading of the bobbin (not sure that is correct) or how I inserted the bobbin into the machine? I watched the video that came with the materials and watched how to load the bobbin into the case. I was then able to hold it in the air and bounce it like a yo-yo as recommended. It only allows thread to loosen out as it is falling back down. However I noticed the bobbin itself does fall out of the case when doing this tension test. I also noticed the entire bobbin case fell out of the machine as well. Remember, I'm not sure what I'm doing. I have tried to find videos online but not having much luck. Also if someone could tell me what style of bobbins this machine uses, L or M, I would appreciate that too. I just can't seem to find the correct anwser. Thank you in advance for the help that is provided. I have three children (two boys who enjoy making quilts as much as I - my daughter sits on my lap to sew, she is only 3), my two boys are as excited to quilt on this as I am. Can't wait. Thank you. Bonnie

  12. I just purchased my first long arm machine. It is an used Ultimate II, non stitch regulated. I'm learning, but need some help. I am having a few loops on the underside of my practice pieces. Can anyone direct me to a manual or video that helps new owners figure things out? Kinda like if this happens (top thread shredding) then you check this, this, and/or this. If your stitches are looping underneath, then you check this..... Does this make sense? It appears there is limited amount of trouble shooting videos on the web. Or at least I haven't found it. I am a <have to see it to learn it> type of person. Although this forum is very beneficial, if I can't see it then I'm having trouble assimilating it into action. Also, does someone have any suggestions on the speed control dial? I'm not sure how that works and how I need to adjust my speed in order to have it all working together. Thank you. Robbin
