Butterfly
The coupler is coming apart again. My husband put it back together and tightened the screw a couple of weeks ago when it came apart the first time. I thought that would be the end of it. It is happening again though. What can I do to keep it together? Can I wrap something around it? Jessica
Sandra Darlington
I had lots of trouble with that last year, too. There are tiny screws that need to be tightened and also a black knob underneath that needs to be tightened. My problem was that I did not have a black knob and the hole the knob should go into was clogged with paint, so I didn't even see the hole to know something was missing. The other thing I did not have was the rubber gasket thingy that fits between the couplers. I contacted APQS and they sent me a knob and a runner thing. I don't know if any of these ideas will help you, but I thought it was worth mentioning...just in case something helps you.
quiltmonkey
Sandy is right there is a set screw in there that needs to be tightened. Mine came loose (just once) about 6 months after I had my machine (I am sure it was ME and during install I did not tighten it correctly).... so...I tightened the set screw and the knob and it has not come loose since. All is good.
