Hi Linda, Since she had laundered the top several times (!) before she brought it to me, I suggested a batting with some poly in it so it didn't shrink up too much. We used Fairfield 80/20--a batting that is on my "do not accept" list for poor quality. We unfolded it and determined it was fine, without "fist holes" that were in a previous batting I had tried to use. It worked well and helped hide the wonky piecing. I wish the Fairfield folks would label their battings more "boldly obvious" (e.g. 80/20 for HAND ONLY) and 60/40 for LONGARM MACHINE so customers pick the right batting.
