PeggyB
Can someone help me? I am trying to do CC with a arc ruler on a lone star. it seems like the quilt catches on something and the stitches become very small or the machine becomes hard to move. I am in the middle of the quilt not on the sides with the clamps. I don't have the problem when I take the base off I was using the ruler to make the CC pretty and uniform and they are anything but... TIA
Butterfly
I have that problem all the time when doing ruler work. My hartley base gets hung up on pins, not the flathead ones, but the round ones. Now I just remove the pins around where I'm working and its smooth sailing. lindasewsit
Sounds like it is catching. Mine has done that before. I ended up putting an extra washer ( I think that is what they are called) under the needle plate where you screw it on. I am not sure I am using the correct names for things, but do you understand what I mean? That did help it for me. hope that helps! linda
quilted charm
I have that problem too. I was told I was pushing down too hard on the base with the ruler. I know if that will solve your problem, but it did seem to help me. It still tugs a bit though.
Primitive1
Some other things to check are your leveler bar, make sure it is high enough for the base to pass under, also I have had mine hang up on threads under the quilt sometimes... Myrna Ficken
If you have a Hartley base expander (which i love) you need to add an extra washer on each screw under the thread cutter plate. There are 2 on each a thicker one and a thiner one. Add another thin one. Also it you have a pin under the ruler you must move it.
