LadyLake
A new customer, who moved here from another area, dropped off a quilt top yesterday that already has the binding attached. She said that is how her former quilt shop requested she do it. Has anyone ever loaded and quilted a quilt top with the binding attached like this? TIA! ffq-lar
It will be OK--I've done it before. You, of course, can't quilt off the top, which I like to do when doing an overall in the border. Makes for a more balanced look if the stitching doesn't have to fit into the edge. Stabilize it as usual and quilt away. But let her know how you prefer the top to be when she brings the next one. There's no going back if the binding is applied beforehand as far as the square-ness of the finished quilt.
Boni
Do you mean it's attached to just the top? or the sandwich and finished? It's a pain, but you can work around it. Linda is right, let her know how YOU like it done for the next one.
