AHuffman
Here's a memorial quilt I just pulled off the frame. My customer made it for her client out of her husband's golf clothes. The fabrics were divine. Silky, soft, scrumptious! I wish I had clothes made from fabric like this. I use IQ for 99% of it. The only freehand work is SID. I used line pattern for both of the checkerboard inner borders. I adjusted the vertical height of the line pattern and it worked out great for the slightly uneven sizes of the patchwork. The setting triangles were made from a corduroy material and I hadn't quilted through that type of material before but it worked great. Hobbs 80/20 for the batt, Bottom Line for the top and bottom, cotton sateen for the backing. The motifs are from the Autumn Splendor collection by One Song Needle Arts. Digi-Tech has them on sale right now. http://stores.digitechpatterns.com/Categories.bok You can see more photos over on my blog! http://quiltedjoy.blogspot.com/2012/01/memorial-quilt-made-from-golf-shirts.html
