carolinequilts
Once I get a bit more practise with the meandering feathers, I am going to offer it to my customers. Right now, I have 3 standard charges for my E2E's based on the panto or overall free-hand design and its complexity/density. I think the Meandering Feathers takes quite a bit longer than a panto or E2E (or maybe I'm just not fast enough yet). Do you charge a higher rate than other E2E's for a more stylized E2E such as this? What do you charge if you don't mind me asking.
ffq-lar
I do 3 cents a square inch. It looks so elegant and elaborate--and it takes practice to perfect. I have some overalls in the 2 cents range, but this one requires marking so I charge more.
witha'K'quilting
I charge up to 2.5 cpsi on a couple of my e2e's...just because of the density. This one fits in this category.
carolinequilts
Yes, I was thinking this very same thing - this one will definately have a higher cost. I have a few more charity quilts to practise on first, then I will offer it for a decent wage. Maybe I'll name it 'stylized E2E' to differentiate it from my other E2E's. Guest Linda S
In my book, feathers always means more money. They are not that easy to do -- well, at least not at first -- I remember how long it took me to produce decent feathers when I was first learning to longarm, so don't give it away! I love the look of the all over feathers myself.
Corey
Definitely takes sometime to do decent feathers. 3 cents PSQ is fair in my book, the effect is beautiful, much much more elegant than regular ETE. Corey
