meg
hi everybody over the weekend, i was trying to do a repair by myself. this was my mistake. during my attempt, i had a florescent lightbulb break (into a million pieces) on the back of the table. i cleaned it all up and am taking it to a professional. what a mess! anyway, i loaded a top and have been quilting all over feathers on it. and there was a spot where i was losing control. since having my m&m wheels, which i LOVE, i have not experienced this at all. so each time it happened, i would go thru all the motions, checking for threads in the wheels, whipping out the level, yada, yada and i could find nothing. on the 5th pass, i happened to notice that my rail was a bit scratched right on the edge where the wheels ride, and when i move my carriage over it, it jerks a bit, like its hitting a bump. i think it's from when the light broke on it. it's the tiniest imperfection, but i can feel it with my fingertip. anyway, i'm wondering if this could be the problem? and if it is, could i use a very fine sandpaper to sand it out? thanks in advance. meg
zeke
Yes, fine sandpaper will do just fine. Only sand enough to get rid of the speed bump. Keep your machine close by and test it every so often to make sure it is smooth. zeke.........
