peglu
This is absolutely gorgeous. I love the colors and all the texture. You do such beautiful work. If I may ask, how are the tree branches appliqued? I am really wanting to do a quilt with an appliqued tree and I can't figure out a way to do the tree branches. They would be too narrow to needle turn or blanket stitch. My step daughter had a tattoo of a bare tree with a heart at the base. She passed away in November and I would love to make a wall hanging for my husband. Thanks Peggy

JoAnnHoffman
Peggy, The branches are raw edge applique. I use Wonderunder light. I did put a blanket stitch around all edges. It's a bean blanket stitch. It goes forward, backwards, forward, bites into the fabric once then does the three stitches on top of each other again. Completely covers the raw edge. I use batiks for applique because I don't like the white edge of regular fabric showing.

JoAnnHoffman
They should be posted on their website to vote The Alliance for American Quilts. Then they go to quilt shows, then they put them on Ebay for sale. Not sure on date of sale.

LibbyG
JoAnn, I love this! Too bad my 1090 Bernina doesn't have the bean blanket stitch, but I'm not trading it in.
