This is absolutely gorgeous. I love the colors and all the texture. You do such beautiful work.

If I may ask, how are the tree branches appliqued? I am really wanting to do a quilt with an appliqued tree and I can't figure out a way to do the tree branches. They would be too narrow to needle turn or blanket stitch. My step daughter had a tattoo of a bare tree with a heart at the base. She passed away in November and I would love to make a wall hanging for my husband.

Thanks

Peggy

Peggy,

The branches are raw edge applique. I use Wonderunder light. I did put a blanket stitch around all edges. It's a bean blanket stitch. It goes forward, backwards, forward, bites into the fabric once then does the three stitches on top of each other again. Completely covers the raw edge. I use batiks for applique because I don't like the white edge of regular fabric showing.
