Susanri
I have an old finished quilt that I need to requilt. Since its bound, I pinned it to fabric to put on the frame. I m planning to do a simple panto, any other tips?
ffq-lar
My assumptions--that you didn't remove the original quilting and will just be adding another layer of stitching to it. That it's fairly flat. That it's in good shape. If that's the case, you will not have a lot of problems quilting it. IF--it's not flat, the original quilting has been removed, or it's in mediocre shape, quilt it from the front so you can deal will fullness and weak spots as you come to them. And--please post some photos so we can see!
whitepinesquilter
I've got one on the frame right now that I am doing that with. I have such problems with tendonitis that I just wanted to get it restitched as painlessly as possible. With the remaining old stitching still in place it lays real nice on the frame. I think you'll have it turn out well also. I've seen posts here where others have done it this way just as you describe you are preparing it. Post a pic when done! Susanri
Thanks I did leave the old quilting as there was very little of it, plus I wanted to preserve the original work as this person has terminal cancer and is passing the quilt along. Susanri
Well I got it quilted, there are some nasty spots where batting had lumped up. Also where there was some the poofiness, however the back came out great, I used forget me knots wild flower panto.

Susanri
Thanks, I think it made a huge difference too even though some iareas are wonky. really didn't know how to correct where the batting had shifted and bunched up. Marci I spend hours coming up with design ideas, just need to hit powerball tonight. Cheers
