micajah
I have searched for the original post on doing this but can't find it. I had to frog a large section yesterday and all those little threads caught in the quilt sandwich came out easily with the silicone spatula. I went to Wally World today and purchased two just for the sewing room. (DH wanted his back). So a big "Thank you' to whoever posted this great tip! PS. Wally World has a package of 2 in the no name brand, for 1.97.
srichardson
Debbie, Thanks for reposting the tip. I read on another site about a brush intended for dogs which worked well for threads but I haven't been able to find one. I have lots of silicone spatulas so I will stop looking for the brush and give one a try!

micajah
I had an entire border that was 6 x 54 inches to frog. The spatula cleaned it all in about 2 minutes. All of the pesky threads still caught in the quilt layers almost instantly gone. Just scrape the quilt top with the side of the spatula. And my cat, also decided the quilt was a nice hammock. It works on cat hair too. I am hooked - no more picking threads out with my fingers.
dpsquilter
I also found out today that a pencil eraser works great. I saw a large one in Michaels the other day that said "for really big mistakes". I was wishing I had bought it.

Quilting Heidi
Thanks for sharing I too had not heard this trick! I certainly have plenty of spatulas and I wish Hubby would miss it! LOL He is not at all a cook. He makes breakfast though so I can't complain too much.
JustSewSimple
I'll use this tip as well!!! I have been using rubber shelf liner but it gets yulky after awhile and sometimes I misplace it. This sounds very clean and neat!

micajah
Don't forget- the spatula has to be made of silicon - regular nylon or metal doesn't work.
