sewhappy
I was reading the topic "You may be a longarm quilter..." and there was a post about washable crayola markers....do you use those for marking a quilt? do they really wash out?? I would think it would be WAAYYYYY cheaper than other markers.
ffq-lar
Yes, they wash out. That's the issue though. I wouldn't use them on a customer quilt because I don't want the responsibility of needing to wash it before pick-up. The problems of bleeding fabric, raveling fabric because the edges aren't bound yet, and loss of that crisp look (no way I'm ironing someones quilt!)--those are issues I don't want to deal with. And leaving the marks for the customer to deal with is not acceptable to me or to them. If you want to use them on your own stuff they work fine. But test on scrap fabric first. Quilting Heidi
Ditto what Linda said. I'd use them on a quilt I did no question.
MtnBarb
Same here. I only use them on my own quilts and they always was out...even the dark markers. I use the Crayola Washable Markers.
