jandcembroidery
After spending days on the internet; I see that there are several different makers of rulers and templates just as there are pantograms. What is one template that you could not live without or maybe your favorite brand? Hope I don't cause a brawl here. I have the Hartley Base and 2 straight edge tools. I'm wanting something that will maybe not only be a design tool but also a training (muscle memory) tool. James
nanbrug
I couldn't do without Deloas rulers the appliglide and little castle . I use it to help me keep a steady hand when I get tired to do freehand designs too.
RitaR
I agree with Nancy, but add the boomerangs. Rita
lisae
My go-to "template" is Deloa's Appliguide...I use it a lot! But you are right, there are so many templates available, most very specialized. I don't know if there is any one template that is going to work for everything. JustSewSimple
I use Deloa's Castle more than anything and then her boomerang - the 12". I think for the money, anyone would get the most of these purchases.
Enchanted Quilting
I too use DeLoa's tools as my go to's. I also use multiple sizes of circles on a regular basis.
WestieMom
I too like Deloa's castle guide and boomerang ruler. I hear the itty bitty ruler is helpful too but I never got around to ordering it.
Quilting Heidi
Well Clearly Deloa has something going for her because my #1 Go to ruler is her Little One and her Boomerangs. For the boomerangs I use sizes 8, 10 and 12 the most. I have almost all of her rulers and in my opinion they provide the most bang for the buck and they are well thought out. Zora
I use my Tri-Arcs by Constantine quilts the most. They are for continuous curves, and I use them on nearly every quilt to some degree. Lyn Heilman at Quilted Memories sells them here in the states. jandcembroidery
Wow!! Deloa has a fan club. I somewhat expected some Gadget Girls inputs. I went to the website and watched all of the videos Deloa had. I was thinking of the Appliguide and castle with the boomerangs and a possible rope a dope. They did seem well priced. Thanks for all of the inputs. As I'm new to Longarm, and have never done free motion or anything other than pantograms, I'm sure I'll be asking for more inputs. RoseCity Quilter
I am not a good one to ask as I am just not a template fan- takes too long......
jandcembroidery
I am not a good one to ask as I am just not a template fan- takes too long...... I really want to take the training wheels off and do something other than pantograms. I just can't seem to grasp the ability to do individual designs. I figured maybe some templates might help me step outside my circle of safety.
Heritage Keepsakes
Deloas castle and Renae Haddadins arcs. Just love them. James have a look at the tutorial videos that APQS put together. They are easy accessed via the Facebook feed on their website and they have some fantastic suggestions for starting out with freehand work that is easy. You can also get to it via YouTube. CindyT
I'm an Itty Bitty fan, but at that time hadn't heard of Deloa's rulers. Now I have her Rope-a-dopes. I also have rulers that I've never used that I thought I had to have.
