katquilter
On one of the forms it said new George's have a split shaft, and then cam accept open toe foot.... Is this true? Can anyone tell me more? I'd love to have an open toe foot, and my George is brand new, but I really don't know what kind of shaft it has. Thanks! Calamity Jain
Hi Kat, You should be good to go! When I got my new George one year ago, I knew I wanted the open foot so I ordered one right off the bat. I put on the open toe foot once and I've never taken it off. And it was easy as I recall. Good luck! Jain from Tucson
Beachside Quilter
If your George has two small screws at the upper shank of the hopping foot, you can order the optional open toe foot. Feet can ordered from your dealer or direct from APQS..
Mrs.A
Agreed. While there is pretty good visibility with the standard foot, the open toe foot is really worth the approx. $65. It comes with a tiny wrench that you'll need to change out the feet. NOTE: you WILL have to turn the flywheel a bit to get good accessibility to those screws.
