scooterc
Which code do you all use on your federal paperwork? I've checked out the list and can't figure out which industry title really covers what quilters do. TIA, Erinn
chickenscratch
I'm not sure what the federal code is, but locally it is classed as manufacturing.
mxley
There isn't one, you use "999999" which is "Other" Mary
ramona-quilter
I don't know about a federal code. I know that my state business license/sellers permit or what it is called uses the terminology "fabrication labor" for what I do. And in California, that is taxable. Isn't everything.
mxley
It doesn't matter what your state calls long-arm quilting, the Federal 1040 Tax form requires a number in the field where you enter your occupation. They have no number for this business, so you need to use "Other" meaning something not listed, and that number is "999999".
