Little House Creations
This is a different quilt - made with a selection of Vintage Hankies . . . my customer had most of them, and shared a few stories about some of them. She is adding vintage buttons to the flap of each hankie, and in the center of the pinwheels. This quilt is going to be a gift to her granddaughter when she graduates next year. Quilting was freehand swirls and flowers in the sashings and border, cross-hatching in the hankies and swirls around the hankies.
Norma H
I have a large no. of these kinds of hankies from my late MIL and also from her Mother. Never knew what to do with them on or in a quilt - this is a great idea. Love your quilting.

LisaC
I love your quilting; it really shows off the hankies. I love vintage hankies, too and have a bundle of them. I have a bunch of quilt ideas for them saved on Pinterest; none of them have this idea as an envelope flap. Very cute.

dlnewell
Beautiful! I've seen hankie quilts where a butterfly was made from the hankies, but the envelope is a really neat idea.

nquade613@gmail.com
I made this quilt for a client this past year. The hankies belonged to her MIL who passed away in the past few years. She had the quilt made to give to her husband for Christmas 2015. Being vintage hankies and well used, there were very few hankies that were in good condition in their entirety. So, I was looking for a way to use the best parts of the hankies. The client also wanted something colorful. The finished size 104 wide x 110 long, includes pillow tuck and 15" drop on 3 sides.
RitaR
Now that handkie quilt is one I love. Others may be pretty, BUT, I'm not much of a fan. This idea could work for anything you have a collectiion of. Wonderful selection of quilting designs also, and of course execution.
Beachside Quilter
Beautiful way to hand down cherished items from bygone era. I have my Grandmother's hankies and have been waiting for a special way to preserve them. This gives me some creative ideas! Lovely work by you both, Bev, and your quilting is the perfect finish!
