Sheila S.
I was given some prewound bobbins with paper not magnets and I was wondering if they are good to use and if there are any tricks to making them work.
Sue E.
I use rewound bobbins with paper all the time. I have no problem and don't usually do anything differently. Do test your tension before you start quilting as sometimes the bobbins are wound slightly tighter than other times.
Sharon Deming
All I use is pre-wounds from Superior (with paper backs). The only thing to remember is to put the spring in the bobbin case when you use the paper backed version. Check your tension - it may be a little different when using paper-backed. FloridaMissy
I am the odd ball. I can never get the tension right with the paper bobbins. I seem to get a lot of backlash. I prefer the magnetic bobbins or I wind my own. On the positive side though they seem to hold a lot more thread.
Sheila S.
Thank you, ladies for your comments. I put the bobbin in and did some sample stitching and played with the tension and it works great. I love not having to change the bobbin as often. Sue E.
Oh, one thing I forgot to mention is the I do put a (sometimes 2) Magic Genie Bobbin washer (the little size for "L" bobbins) in the bobbin case. I do take the spring out of the case first. This lets the paper glide smoothly.
